Welt-Aids-Tag 2025

„Gemeinsam. Gerade jetzt.“ (Together. Especially now.) – under this topic the campaign for the World-Aids-Day on 1.12.2025 was started. The Organisers – the Bundesinstitut für Öffentliche Gesundheit (german.: Federal Institute for public health), the Deutsche AIDS-Stiftung (German AIDS-Foundation) and the Deutsche Aidshilfe (German AIDS-Help) want to make a clear statement against the increasingly polarised social climate and call for decided action.

The AIDS-Hilfe Potsdam has distributed red ribbons and collected donations at the 1.12. from 12.30 - 18.00.

We were supported by politicians of Brandenburg and Potsdam.

We thank Isabelle Vandre, Carola Sonnet, Ines Seiler, Julia Sahi, Uwe Adler, Heiderose Gerber, Lutz Boede, Dr. Joleen Gruhn, Uwe Fröhlich, Andro Heinz, Viktoria Matzen, Sebastian Adamski and Helen.

It was great with so many engaged people at our side for the important World-Aids-Day under the theme: Gemeinsam. Gerade jetzt.(Together. Especially now)

World wide there are nearly 41 million people with HIV. About two thirds of all HIV-Therapies are dependent on the USA. Until now the country has made the greatest contributionsto global Fonds for combatting AIDS, Tuberouloses and Malaria. Since the start of the year the US have greatly decreased their engagement, especially through the dissolution of the development help agency USAID. Estimates of USAID put the deaths caused by AIDS until 2029 at around four million people and seven million new infections in the same span. In Germany at the end of 2023 there were about 97.000 people living with HIV following estimates of the Robert Koch-Institute.
